Abcellera, the Canada based antibody seller has purchased the Massachusetts biotech firm, Tetragenetics in an all cash transaction. Abcellera announced that it will also be making milestone payments on the basis of technical achievements, success of R and D and profits.
Tetragenetics is primarily famous as a protein production unit - their expertise with the production processes of transmembrane proteins are unparalleled. Founded in 2005, this firm in Arlington was started by Bill Gordon. The company will supply proteins to Abcellera to help it maintain its antibody discovery research in full swing.
Abcellera came into the big picture in recent times when it received a partnership grant from Eli Lilly for designing covid 19 antibodies. The CEO, Carl Hansen is optimistic about Abcellera breaking boundaries of antibody research with its newest collaboration. He is looking forward to welcoming the Tetragenetics team on board as soon as possible.
