Yale researchers discover healing properties of Psilocybin

Neuroscientists from the Yale School of Medicine have claimed that the psychedelic drug Psilocybin can cause a ten percent increase in neuron size. The drug can also improve the density of your frontal cortex which is responsible for higher cognitive functions like memory and social interactions. Experimental trials were conducted on mice with a result window of twenty four hours. The researchers reported that the effects of the drug were long lasting with primary improvements remaining conspicuous for a month. The male mice were found to have shown milder receptivity to the drug dose as compared to their female counterparts. The scientists rationalize that the curative tendencies of the drug though varying with respect to bio individuality of the animals, are similar to the ones desired by victims of depressive disorders. This means that Psilocybin might prove instrumental in curing PTSD and clinical depression.
